In an attempt to strengthen its presence in the South African market smartphones, Sony Ericsson has announced the availability of the arc and Neo Xperia device.
It seems that the Xperia Arc is now available on contract from Vodacom R249 (about $ 37) and R319 (about $ 47) per month from MTN, while Neo sells for R179 (about $ 26) per month from Vodacom."We see the Android operating system that we bring to the race, we must have to play in the race," said Colin Williamson, director of marketing at Sony Ericsson in South Africa.

Xperia is new 3.7-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touch screen, which is based on the Sony Bravia Engine Mobile.

The other Android smartphone launched in South Africa, the Xperia arc has the same hardware, but comes with a slightly larger 4.2-inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touch with 16 million colors and 480 support x 854 pixels resolution.
Equipped with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Xperia Arc boasts a superior 8 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, 512MB RAM, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8 GB card included), and Wi -Fi 802.11 b / g / n connectivity, and integrated GPS.
